Our latest annual report covers the year ending 30 June 2024. We’ve got more members than ever before and we remain steadfast in our commitment to making work work for everyone – for individuals, organisations, communities and wider society.

Our year in review

Peter Cheese, Chief Executive,  reflects on the achievements and challenges of the past year and shares his vision for the year ahead. This inspiring message highlights our collective efforts, future goals, and the opportunities that lie ahead in 2025.

This year, we’ve grown our community to a landmark 162,000 members.  

An impressive 28,600 people took the first step toward membership by registering for CIPD qualifications or CIPD accredited degree, representing learners from over 130 countries, and building a truly global community. 

Our members are at the heart of everything we do, and together, we are shaping the future of work for individuals, organisations, communities and wider society.  

We’re doing more for our members than ever before and there’s much more to come. We’re making CIPD membership work by listening to what members need and acting on their feedback. This is shaping how we support you as the voice, the standard, and the partner for the people profession. So far, we’ve added more mentoring opportunities, better CPD support, stronger networks, advisory groups to guide our priorities, timely advice, and expert help. 

 

This year, we’ve also worked with 272 organisations to support 57,000 people professionals, including 300 colleagues from Asda who joined through our new Group Affiliate Subscription. 

We’ve been building resources to help members succeed: 

  • Launched 17 new courses on the CIPD Learning Hub. 
  • Shared 200 new resources on the Knowledge Hub. 

 

The CIPD Trust has continued to help people overcome workplace challenges, empowering more individuals to thrive. This success is thanks to the dedicated people professionals who volunteer to create a more inclusive and connected world of work. 

This year, the Trust supported 801 individuals through mentoring programmes, bursaries, and webinars. You can read some of their inspiring stories in the  2023-24 Impact Report.  

Our online Community celebrated its 20th anniversary this year and continues to provide guidance and connection to over 20,000 people across the profession. 

We’re proud to be raising the profile of the people profession, with increased media coverage up nearly 14% in the UK and Ireland, 60% in the Middle East, and tenfold in Asia. Our website received 3.3 million visitors.
